On the look out for a quiet walk with 🐶 Taco, Jodie found another great walk just 20 minutes from home. The Hoylandswaine-Oxspring is a 3.5 mile circular walk through rolling fields and woodland trails, with some sections along the Trans Pennine Trail.

After parking in a small layby on the main road, we headed off through the fields passing the farmhouse and in to the woodlands. The route is fairly well marked with a few stiles to cross however sections of the woodland were quite overgrown with nettles and brambles (Jodie’s legs are still recovering from the scratches!).

After getting back to the car we decided to treat ourselves to an ice cream from Yummy Yorkshire

The weather was looking good in the morning so we decided to head out for some fresh air and came across a circular walk which starts and ends at Keppel’s Column, a folly built in 1773 to commemorate the acquittal of Admiral Augustus Keppel. The walk takes you through farmland, woodlands and offers some great views of the surrounding countryside.

A goal of ours is to visit as many waterfalls around the UK as possible, and the Ingleton Waterfall Trail is a great place to start.

Andy and Eleanor joined us for this walk, and we set off from the village of Ingleton. The trail is well-marked and takes you through a variety of landscapes, including woodlands, moorlands, and river valleys.
